"New Year" is a man made celebration. That is the very reason that so many New Year's resolutions fail. |
I know some will immediately refer to the Hebrew holiday in the Bible. Rosh Hashanah (ראש השנה), literally "head of the year" is the Jewish New Year. It is the first of the High Holidays or Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"), ten days before Yom Kippur.
...But remember this my friends, the Law brought calendars, creation is in days, God forth brought life!
If you can put your Old Testament down, consider what I'm sharing. Without a calendar there is no way to know when one year ends and another begins.
___In creation, God's first step was to create light
____ then separate light from darkness.
You don't need a calendar to determine when one day ends and another begins. God's grace is imparted in new days not New Years. God promises His grace is enough for today. God divided his creation into "today's" not two years.
One reason New Year's resolutions fail is because we are looking for a grace for a whole new year. Changes happen based on the impartation of little miracles for each new day. Let us take our New Year's resolution as a new day resolution. God will impart enough grace for the needs of each new day.
We pray that 2011 will be a year of anointed ministry. God grant us all grace to model the love and power of Jesus Christ. God is calling us more to be a blessing than to be blessed; more to Love, than to be loved; more to minister than to be ministered to.
We hope you can join Global Teen Challenge and Awake 21 to be a part of this powerful experience as we position ourselves, our churches, and our leadership for maximum effectiveness in 2011. |

PARTNER
PRAYER
FOCUS FOR
DECEMBER |
1) Let us pray that 2011 will be a year of anointed ministry in which we model the love and power of Jesus in these last days. God is calling us more to be a blessing than to be blessed, more to Love, than to be loved, more to minister to others rather than be ministered to.
2) Please pray for the 6-year old daughter of Jonathan and SungJoo Aird, Teen Challenge Directors in Seoul, South Korea. Amethyst has a serious case of scoliosis. Jonathan has founded Teen Challenge in South Korea. The surgery will take place when the money becomes available. It costs over $10,00. They have appealed to the specialist at the hospital knows their situation and he is going to present our case to some top people who support those who are unable to pay for the surgery. Pray for healing and for favor..
3) SIBERIA Ilya and Janet Banseev: On Friday, January 7, people in Russia will celebrating Christmas as it is a national holiday. We'll be having three services, and many unsaved people will come that don't usually attend. Would you please pray that God would touch people's hearts and help them to make a decision to follow Christ.
4) Please pray for John Martin, the executive Director of Kenya Teen Challenge. He fell and broke his left wrist and left ankle on Tuesday. He has come through surgery successfully. He will have to use a wheelchair in a society with no wheelchair inaccessibility.
John shares,"Before I left the hospital they took me to physical therapy to teach me how to do the one crutch hop. It is a balancing act, but I am figuring it out. I can now touch down the broken foot for balance and stability, but I do not put any weight on it. I praise God because in physical therapy I saw people learning to walk with artificial limbs"
John has built a great staff at Teen Challenge Kenya, and I have confidence that everything will go smoothly as I take a little time to mend. |
|
5) Please continue to pray for healing and perseverance our dear friend Stan Noll. His cancer surgery is January 26, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center. The cancer is located between his left eye and left ear.
6) Pray for Brandon Hayslip. Bonnie and Roger Wilkerson Hayslip's 29 year old son who is fighting cancer. He's quite ill from the chemotherapy treatments and Bonnie has been calling for prayer around the world for him. Pray also for his wife Christina who must endure the unthinkable as a very young bride -- as she watches her new husband suffer with cancer. I can't even begin to imagine what they're going through.
7) Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 86 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in 43 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. |
